    Description

An op art inspired piece from 1976, the Prisma clock by Kirsch Hamilton Associates manages to capture vibrant colors, minimalism, and 1970s space age design. This mysterious color changing clock has a chrome body, thick lucite lens over laminated discs, rectangular hour and minute hands, rotating seconds disc over larger fixed disc, and thick rubber base. The analog clock face is back-lit and as the discs and clock hands move and overlap each other the colors actively shift and change prismatically. The colors also appear differently based on your viewing angle. Prisma is the perfect desktop sculpture slash clock slash lamp for any contemporary or mid-century modern home.
In good vintage condition and keeps good time with minimal wear consistent with age and use, very slight marking to chrome case, slight delamination of filters in face, and faint yellow lines radiating from center of filters. (See photos.) On/off toggle switch on rear turns on bulbs for back lighting effect. . Signed with applied metal manufacturer's label on reverse: "Prisma Made in USA Kirsch/Hamilton Associates, Inc 1976 Serial No. 4947"
