Tiger Rescue Captivity, Cubs Nursed by Pointer Dog 1870s Antique Engraving Print

You are bidding on a very rare original antique engraving from an 1870s French illustrated journal.
It depicts a mother English pointer dog as nursemaid to tiger cubs. She looks upon them lovingly.
The caption reads:  Chienne braque allaitant deux petits tigres
which roughly translates to:  Pointer D
og
lactating
Two Little
Tigers
It is very large (folio size), measuring approximately 10.5 x 14.5 inches (26.5 x 36.5 cm). The picture area is about
7.5 x 5.75 inches (18 x 14.5 cm), with a French caption below and text above it. The text could easily be trimmed before framing, or hidden under a window mat.
The page is in excellent condition for its age.
