The Prairie Rug Primer
" includes directions (with illustrations) to teach the age old rug making technique from Scandinavia.
Included are patterns to make both oval and round rugs.
The
toothbrush needle
is made in "pink ribbon pink" to remind everyone who uses them,
self examination and early detection saves lives.
The oval rug start
will measure approximately 2"X 10". You can make whatever size you like but there will always be a 8" difference between length and width.  It is 100% cotton, pre washed in hot water.
The color and and fabric pattern may change but I try to keep everything in neutrals
.
There is no additional fabric included
These rugs resemble crocheted rag rugs but are easier to master, more durable and lay flatter.  Unlike the chain stitch of crochet, it's constructed one independent stitch at a time.
Woven with fabric remnants, you'll love the classic rag rug look or purchase fabric for a specific pattern and decor.  Rag rugs are a wonderful way to use up remnants or fabric left from all your finished quilts, old sheets or clothing.
Strips are ripped (not cut) and joined using a knot that makes this a fast and very portable hobby to take along on trips or those times you have to sit and wait.  Using 100% cotton makes them completely washable and durable.
